Woeful. Absolutely Abysmal. Dropped 48 Pieces of Mixed motorcycle parts (aluminium & steel), a lathe splash back and door handle separated into boxes for Gloss and Satin Black on Fri 15th Dec. Discussed importance of engineered surfaces (bearings, brake caliper seals, mating surfaces) with owner and was told everything would be ready to collect by 22nd December. Went to pick up on 22nd December, only a handful of parts competed (aprox 10) of which most were immediately rejected due to lack of masking on engineered surfaces, powder baked into masking tape and excess powder on corners/edges resulting in runs and bubbles. Informed that they would be put right and the rest completed for the end of the first week in Jan. Went to collect 8th Jan, nothing moved from either of the boxes since prior to Christmas. Clearly annoyed, I negotiated collection at 9am the following Saturday (12th Jan) where they would open specially for me to collect due to my availability. Dropped by 1700hrs Friday 11th before they closed on my way home to find most items coated and wrapped, items still to be coated and items still to be started. At this point I was told by the owner with a completely unconcerned attitude, that the rest would be finished by the end of the following week (he obviously would not have been there at 9am the following morning to tell me that). Began to open the packed items to find by far the worst quality powder coating I’ve ever seen and despite splitting it into Gloss and Satin, everything was Gloss (he flat out tried to lie at this point and tell me i couldn't tell the difference between the two). At this point I recovered all my parts (minus 2 parts he could not locate) and told him to locate the missing parts and call me before 1200hrs the following Monday. No call ever came. Of the 48 pieces dropped off, 2 missing, 3 were not finished, 14 were adequate and 29 pieces have had be sent to a specialist to remove the mess of a job these incompetent cowboys have tried to pass off as normal.

If you want timely service, quality output and the minimum of quality control stay well clear. If you’ve got a garden bench you don’t mind them loosing or eventually returning with bubbling, overly thick- powder, covered in scratches, runs and grit, then these are the guys for you.

If pictures say a thousand words, the below sums this operation up. First pictures is a mating surface of a brake caliper half. Not masked, brake fluid transfer & o-ring holes full of powder, piston recesses coated too! Second pic shows scratches and excess wire marks leaving bare aluminium/steel beneath. Third pic shows their lovely smooth finish (this was supposed to be Satin Black too.
